Archery
Greetings from Master Mark Squirrelsbane,
Archery at Pennsic 37 will once again be located atop Mount Eislinn, across from the Main Battlefield. There will be regular wagon service up and down the hill. Activities will include open practice, novelty shoots, archery-related classes, youth archery practice and competitions, the three mass War Point shoots and a Champions War Point shoot. If you would like to sponsor a novelty shoot or archery class, please fill out the Battlefield Reservation Request Form. Range Operation & StaffingRange setup will begin on Sunday, July 27 at 9:00 am and finish Monday, July 28. The range will be ready for use on Tuesday, July 29. All ranges will be closed to all other activities during the Champions shoot on Monday, August 4.Populace War points will be shot on Tues. Aug 4th through Fri., Aug 8th. Range takedown will start at 4 pm on Friday, August 8. Marshals representing both Middle and East (including allies) will be required to staff the range from Tuesday, August 5 through Friday, August 8. We will also be in need of marshals for the Archer Champions shoot, starting at 9 am on Monday, August 4. All archery marshals, regardless of kingdom, are urgently needed for range and inspection duties. You are strongly encouraged to come up to the range and sign the roster. Of particular need are folks willing to help with set-ups and take-downs. Present yourself at the range and someone will find something for you to do. During all times that the range is staffed by marshals, a yellow flag will be raised above the inspection area of the archery marshal’s tent. If the flag is raised, you are welcome to come to the range and shoot. If the flag is lowered, there are not enough marshals present for safe operation and the range is closed. The flag will be clearly visible from the vicinity of the paved roads and will save a lot of unnecessary walking.
