New locations for Pennsic Departments

As of Pennsic 38, several departments are now in new locations:

Heralds' Tent

The Heralds' Tent has moved from the A&S area to a new tent just east of the Playground on Low Road.

Gaming Tent

The Gaming Tent, previously in front of the camp store, is now in the A&S area.

Archery Range

Due to insurance concerns raised by the management of Cooper's Lake Campground, the Archery Range has moved to a new field west of the B Blocks. Transportation will be provided to the new site via bus route.

The top of Mount Eislinn is bordered on the back by private property. The concern is that the archery netting, not being 100% effective and not covering 100% of the range presents a clear hazard. Other factors that came into this decision is that during and after inclement weather it can be impossible for transportation and EMS services to reach the top of Mt. Eislinn.

The new Archery Range is in a somewhat remote area of Cooper's Lake with no camping around it. The closest private property is a field away and is a cornfield. This Archery Range will not need netting. Pennsic has also purchased a 40-foot storage trailer for the Archery staff, and upgraded their communication equipment.
