Lost and Found

Lost and Found is located in the Watch Tent, at the corner of Brewer's Road and Dragon Trace (across from Troll).

New this year: Lost and Found will be open 24 hours a day.

When seeking a lost item, please be patient with the staff at Lost and Found. These volunteers work with an established system and will make every effort to return your item if they have it. Lost and Found can only return items that have been found on site and turned over to their care. Lost items have been successfully returned to their owners as much as ten years later.

If you have to go home before the end of Pennsic, come to Lost and Found to fill out a lost item report so that your property may be returned to you if it comes in after your departure.

Lost Armor / Weapons

An auxiliary Lost and Found station for armor and weapons is located on the Main Battlefield by the Marshals' Tent. It will open one hour before each battle.

Newspaper listings

In past years, Lost & Found has had an agreement with the Pennsic Independent staff to print the names of individuals whose items are identifable by name. We will continue to provide this service when possible. Please check the Pennsic newspaper for your name so that we can return the object that you so responsibly labeled. (Hint, Hint.)

Unclaimed Items

If you lost something at last Pennsic, please visit the Lost and Found tent to see if they have it. Most items are held for two years.

Items not claimed by the end of this War will be handled by volunteers from the Debatable Lands (if one is available). Items not claimed within 2 years will be auctioned off at Pennsic with the proceeds going to help support the event. The auction is set for Monday of the second week (War Week) at 4:30 P.M. at Battlefield Lost & Found.

Suggestions to minimize the risk of loss or theft:

  1. Label anything you cannot afford to lose. Include your MUNDANE name, campsite, home address, and phone number. Heraldry also helps make an item identifiable.

  2. Make a list of what you’ve packed for Pennsic. Leave the list in your car to review upon departure from the War. If anything on that list doesn’t make it back into your car before you leave, check with Lost and Found .

  3. Once unpacked, put your keys in your mundane shoes in a safe place in your tent. This helps you to always locate your car keys at the end of the War or in case of emergency.

  4. While fighting, establish a communal armor dump for your group at the edge of the battlefield. Designate a person to help carry your stuff back to your communal armor area during and after the battles. The marshals and the clean-up crew would appreciate help at the end of each battle in clearing the field in preparation for the next fighting engagement.

  5. If you have lost a weapon during the battle, please refrain from picking up another weapon that happens to look like the one you’ve lost. This is stealing – or at least you’d think so if it were your weapon or armor that was lifted.
