Arts & Sciences Display
Monday, August 6th 10 am to 3 pm
Pennsic 41 will see the 15th annual display of the talents and knowledge of the Known World's Artisans and Craftspeople!
People from all over the world have put hours, weeks, and months of effort into making objects, and then even more effort to bring these objects to Pennsic.
The populace is invited to come view all the very different areas of interests and knowledge in our wonderful Society!
This is not meant to be a competition. Items on display are not always finished – some are works in progress, and some are just representations of what
someone knows and does. You may see something that you want to start investigating, or find someone who has more knowledge in a field you are already interested in.
You might even be able to share some knowledge or resources with those that are displaying!
The Arts & Sciences Display will be held on Monday, August 6th, in Time & Place the barn behind the camp store.
8:30 am: Artisans set up their entries
10 am to 3 pm: the Display is open to the public
3 to 4 pm: Break down displays
Participants must have their objects/displays out by 4 pm, when we hope you will help us take down all the tables and return the barn to its empty state.
Any displays left in the barn will be turned over to Lost and Found and can be retrieved there.
While online pre-registration is strongly encouraged, we understand that it is not always possible,
so registration forms will also be available at Pennsic University Point.
Table space will be assigned to those who pre-register in the order they are received, as we cannot guarantee space for everyone.
Pre-registration at Pennsic:
Please come to University Point (see map) to fill out a form prior to the day of the Display.
Those who register on-line or at Pennsic will be served with a special
on the day of the display.
Express Check-in Line
Anyone signing up on the day of the Display will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis, as space allows.
Display space in the barn is organized by Kingdom, so the Royalty, Peers and Populace of a particular Kingdom may
more easily view the efforts of their craftspeople.
Tables will be provided for displaying entries (some are picnic tables).
Space limitations require artisans to share tables – each artisan will have a total 9 square feet (a 3' x 3' area) of table space.
If you require a larger space, please bring your own table. You may also bring stands, easels, dress forms,
tablecloths and other methods to display your work.
You may display documentation along with your work, but it must also fit within your alloted area.
Artisans displaying garb have the option of wearing the outfit, in order to display the garments properly.
Artisans planning to stay with their displays are encouraged to bring a chair.
Please prepare for the possibility of inclement weather when planning your display, in order to protect your work.
Artisans are not required to be present for the entire time. If you can only be there for a part of the day, we still thank you for sharing your knowledge.
However, please arrange for someone to watch your items when you cannot be there. The staff cannot take responsibility for them.
Thank you! Being able to organize this for you is such a joy.
