Thrown Weapons

The Thrown Weapons range is located on the east side of the battlefield, near the fort.

So that throwers from all kingdoms can play, we will be using the Society Thrown Weapon Rules rather than the East, Æthelmearc or Middle Kingdom rules.

Marshal-in-Charge: Lord Colin MacKenzie
Deputy Marshal: Lord Leon the Navigator

Youths

As long as the range and safety rules are followed, everyone over the age of 5 will be allowed to throw. Youths less than 12 years of age will need to bring a parent or guardian with them to the range. The parent/guardian will have to stay with them while they are at the range.

For Youths 12+ the parent or guardian must accompany them and sign a consent form which will be kept on record for the War.

Special youth classes and tournaments are being held; check the schedule.

Marshals & Teaching

Marshals are needed to run both ranges so that we can be open the majority of the war. Help with the Marshals-in-Training (MITs) is always welcome. The East and Middle are planning thrown weapons marshal classes — check with the MIC on the range to see if your kingdom is planning MIT classes.

The marshals are more than willing to teach new people to throw. There is a smaller "teaching" range available for classes and teaching only. If a competition is running, this range can still be used to teach beginners.

The Range

The range can be open if a minimum of 2 adults, one being a marshal, are present on the range. There is a flag system to show the range status. A green flag signifies that the range is open.

We will be setting up the range starting on Monday of the first week; if you are available your assistance will be greatly appreciated. The more hands that help the quicker the range will be set and the sooner we will be able to play.
