Lost and Found
Lost and Found is located in the
Watch Tent, at the corner of Brewer's Road and Dragon Trace (across from Troll).
We encourage you to put some form of identification (e.g.: your name and/or encampment) on important objects. This will help us to get items back to you sooner.
When seeking a lost item, please be patient with the staff at Lost and Found.
Our volunteers work with an established system and will make every effort to return your item if they have it.
Lost and Found can only return items that have been found on site and turned in. Lost items have been
successfully returned to their owners as much as ten years later!
Hours of operation
Saturday, July 28th - Saturday, August 11th: 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday, August 12th: 8 am to 12 noon
After Hours:
Dropping off found items - Please leave items with someone at The Watch tent.
Retrieving lost items - The Watch will handle returns for critical items
such as prescription glasses, car keys, and wallets.
Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for 2 hour shifts, with 2-3 people on each shift. Teenagers (13-18) are welcome to volunteer alongside their parent(s).
We plan to make Lost and Found the happiest place to volunteer! We offer a shady place to sit, snacks and assorted flavors of K-cup coffee, and an electric fan to keep you cool!
Stop by Lost and Found Point to sign up for a shift.
Lost Armor / Weapons
An auxiliary Lost and Found station for armor and weapons is located on the Main Battlefield by the Marshals' Tent.
It will open one hour before each battle.
Unclaimed Items
Items not claimed by the end of this War will be taken care of by SCAdian volunteers.
If you lost something at last Pennsic, please visit the Lost and Found tent to see if we have it.
Because of the sheer volume, most lost items (except weapons) are kept two years.
Items not claimed within two years will be auctioned off (see below).
Lost and Found Auction
The Auction of items found at previous Pennsics will be held on Monday, August 6th at 6 pm, at the Rapier tent on the Battlefield.
Tips for making Less of a Loss
Label anything you cannot afford to lose. Include your
modern name, campsite, home address, and phone
number. Heraldry also helps make an item identifiable.
Make a list of what you've packed for Pennsic. Leave the
list in your car to review upon departure from the War. If
anything on that list doesn't make it back into your car
before you leave, check with Lost and Found.
Once unpacked, put your keys in your modern shoes in a
safe place in your tent. This helps you to always locate your
car keys at the end of the War or in case of emergency.
While fighting, establish a communal armor dump for your
group at the edge of the battlefield. Designate a person to
help carry your gear back to your communal armor area
during and after each battle. The marshals and the clean-up
crew would appreciate help at the end of each battle in
clearing the field in preparation for the next fighting engagement.
If you lose a weapon during the battle,
please refrain from picking up and using someone else's weapon.
If you find a weapon on the field after the battles, please bring it to Battlefield Lost and Found so we may reunite it with the owner.
If you have to leave the site before the end of Pennsic, come to Lost and Found to fill out
a lost item report so that your property may be returned to you if it turns up later.
