The Watch
The Watch
is located at the corner of Dragon Trace and Brewer’s Road, opposite from Troll (
see map ).
Our goal is to help in the safety of the event. We are here to assist people in need.
The Watch is not a police force. We are not a security force. We are the neighborhood watch.
We are here to make sure that traffic and patterns run smoothly.
We are here to assist the Pennsic-goer who, at 3 am, may have enjoyed Pennsic a wee bit too much!
In all cases, we ask that all attendees remember the ideals of our Society and treat each other with respect.
Duke Cuan MacDaige
Deputy Mayor of The Watch

Children at Pennsic
All Parents are asked to read the site rules regarding children and minors at Pennsic.
(Site rules are also in the Pennsic booklet given to all Pennsic attendees.)
Please take care of your children and remind them of the curfew rules.
Parking
As Pennsic attendance increases, so do the number of vehicles on site. Please do not abuse the Site Rules about parking .
Unpack your car and park it as soon as possible. Set up your camp after you have parked your car.
It is extremely important that the roads remain passable so
emergency and working vehicles can get through. In past years, we have come close to losing the bus service because of vehicles blocking the road.
PLEASE READ THE PARKING AND TOWING POLICIES CLOSELY. VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED THIS YEAR AND REPEAT OFFENDERS WILL BE REMOVED FROM SITE.
For those who have helped us in the past with keeping the roads clear, I would like to personally thank you. We greatly appreciate your support in
helping to make this a safe and fun vacation for everyone.
Volunteers
As always, we are looking for volunteers to staff The Watch. We welcome your help in this endeavor.
Volunteering for the Watch is a terrific way to get to know the event and the people who make it special year after year
Positions
Deputy on duty makes decisions and is in overall charge for a 6-hour shift.
This position is also responsible for briefing each shift supervisor and ensuring that all major incidents are correctly entered into the log.
Point Control oversees operations at the Point.
Dispatch officer coordinates all communications.
Cart patrols consist of two volunteers covering a three-hour shift.
Volunteer Requirements
If you want to sign-up to volunteer for The Watch, visit The Watch Point tent (corner of Brewers Road and Dragon Trace).
Bring your photo ID to register.
A valid drivers' license is required to complete the golf cart agreement form.
People willing to volunteer for The Watch patrols must be able to both drive a cart and walk foot patrols so that in an emergency they may be deployed immediately.
For those who have mobility or physical issues, please consider volunteering as Point Control or Dispatch officer.
No one under the age of 18 years may volunteer for The Watch.
All volunteers will be asked to be properly dressed in appropriate pre-1600 CE clothing.
No weapons are allowed while you are volunteering for The Watch (e.g., daggers).
Mobility Assistance
The Pennsic staff understands that not everyone can easily ride on the buses.
To assist those with mobility needs, we will have two
Mobility Assistance carts (marked with a blue emblem with a white wheelchair)
running from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm.
The carts will stop at all bus stops (see the map in the Pennsic Book), at the Town Hall tent (near the camp store), and at the Watch tent (near Troll),
and will take you to the stop nearest your destination
There will be no scheduled rides.
If you would like to volunteer to drive the Mobility Assistance Cart,
please come to Watch Point to meet with the Transportation Coordinator, fill out a waiver and select a shift.
The golf carts are intended to assist those with mobility needs. We encourage those who are able-bodied
to either walk or use the buses, so the carts are available for those who need assistance.
This transportation service is not for party-hopping or taking people home when they are drunk.
