Known World Children's Fete
Wed., August 6, 12:30 - 2:30 pm in the Great Hall

2014 Known World Children's Fete Coordinator

Lady Aine O Grienan

Rose Sponsor

Countess Ysabella Cacemoine

King William and Queen Kara, gracious Monarchs of Atlantia, extend an invitation to the children of the Known World to attend the annual Children's Fete at Pennsic. The party will take place in the Great Hall on Wednesday, August 6th, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

The Fete is designed for children ages four and older. In keeping with previous years, the afternoon will be filled with a variety of arts and crafts, ongoing activities and live performances to amuse and delight. We may be having some activities that involve water, so please make sure your young ones are dressed appropriately. There will be light snacks and drinks available for children and their parents.

Parents and Guardians, please note that you should remain with your child at the Fete. Due to the large numbers of children that attend, organizers cannot be responsible for food allergies or other health issue. We ask that children do not bring personal articles with them as the organizers will not be responsible for lost, broken or stolen items and sad faces make for an unpleasant afternoon.

Volunteers Needed!

Each year we celebrate the youth of the Society by providing them with a fun-filled afternoon at Pennsic War. However, the party cannot take place without the generous volunteers who give of their time and energy each year. If you, your group, or household is looking for a way to help out, please consider working at the Fete!

We need folks to help with:

The booths that can use help are: We are still looking for a group (or several together) to sponsor the bounce house (about $285).

We are also looking for groups to sponsor an activity for the fete by providing volunteers and supplies. We still need A LOT of booths. Some of the activities we have had in the past include mask making, face painting, finger loop braiding, banner making, period board games, leather working, bead making, illumination, weaving, Middle Eastern Dance, period dancing, nerf archery and needlepoint, just to name a few. We have also had jugglers, puppet shows and story tellers to entertain the children, so performers are always welcome as well! (The booths that we currently have covered are: Coloring - Baroness Judith the Confused, Yarn Dolls - Lady Katarzyna Witkowska, Activity Table - Mistress Rhonwen verch Tuder)

Finally, we are always looking for people willing to donate prizes to be given to the children.

Please join us in making this year the best one ever. If you want to be in on the discussion and are not already a member, please join our Yahoo Group. When you sign up, indicate in the message where you are from and your interest in joining. Once there, you can add your name and activity to the database for this year. If you do not wish to join the Yahoo group, please email us with your plans and we will make sure to include space for you.

If you have any questions, please contact Lady Aine O Grienan by email. At Pennsic, she will be camping with Eldenwood in E10.
