Information about the
Firewood Import/Export Ban
and Emerald Ash Borer Quarantine

Pennsylvania has lifted the Emerald Ash Borer quarantine, although a Federal quarantine on the transportation of firewood is still in effect.

Because of the beetle's aggressive movement across Pennsylvania, the restrictions on transporting firewood within the state initially intended to slow the pest's spread is now unnecessary.

However, invasive pests such as Gypsy Moths, Asian Longhorned Beetles, Emerald Ash Borers, Sirex Wood Wasps, and Bark Beetles are easily spread when people move infested wood products.

If you purchase locally-grown firewood while at Cooper's Lake, please do not take it back to your home state with you.
