New for Pennsic 52!

Greetings, all! In the past, when we’ve had a need to close parking lots due to weather or other conditions, we have relied on word of mouth and social media posts. The latter, of course, only reaches those folks who have access to the Pennsic group or even look at social media while at Pennsic.

New this year, in addition to web and social media posts, we have gone analog! We will be using sign boards posted strategically around the entrances of main parking areas as well as a “summary” board at Watch Point, to help indicate the general status of each main parking area. The image attached to this post provides an overview of the design for these signs. For reference, each status means the following:

Open: There are no general issues with this lot, and attendees should be able to park normally.

Caution: Weather or other localized issues may have caused impassable or problem areas in this lot. Please use caution if attempting to park in this area. Do not drive into areas of visible water or mud, and do not attempt to park if rows or spots are “taped off” as hazardous.

Closed: This lot either has large-scale impassable areas or the weather is actively making it hazardous to drive into or through this lot. Please do not attempt to enter until a later time.

As always, even in open lots, attendees should exercise caution when parking on grass lots and parking in a courteous manner in compliance with the restrictions as given in the site rules.

During the event, we will post here on the website each morning, as well as on social media, the current status with an image of the Summary Board at Watch Point. If the status changes at any time, we will post updates so the latest status for all lots will be available via the most recent post.
