The Thrown Weapons Range is located to the right of the Fort, near Currie Road.
RANGE HOURS
The range is open when the green flag is raised
Range Set Up:
Monday, July 27, and Tuesday, July 28: 9 am – 1 pm
Open Throwing:
Tuesday, July 28: 1 pm – 5 pm
Open Throwing:
Wed., July 29, through Thurs., Aug 6: 9 am – 5 pm
Range Tear Down:
Friday, Aug 7: 9 am until done

THROWN WEAPONS CHAMPIONS WAR POINT
Thursday, 8/6, 8:30 am
Champion Tryouts are open to all to compete as a champion for the East or Middle side. You must be able to show excellent throwing skills in Axe, Knife, and Spear. The point tally total will be announced at time of try outs. Tryouts will be held Sun., August 2 & Mon., August 3 from 5:30 pm to dusk.
THROWN WEAPONS CONVENTIONS FOR PENNSIC
In addition to the SCA Thrown Weapons Standards and Conventions, please note these items for Pennsic 53:
- All throwers must have footwear that covers the soles of their feet, although closed-toed footwear is recommended.
- The minimum age to throw is 5 years of age.
- Youths under 18 need to be registered at the range by a parent, a court-designated legal guardian, or a notarized guardian before they throw for the first time.
- The parent or guardian must stay at the range with those under 12 at all times. Once registered, those 12 and older can be at the range unaccompanied.
- Pennsic Thrown Weapons does not provide “loaner equipment”. Individual throwers MAY choose to loan out equipment at their discretion.
