Greetings, land agents of PW52
There is less than a week to submit your PMAP and have it voted on.
If you log on to the land site, you can go to your Agent menu and click PMAP (for non-PMAP blocks, it’s called MAP SHARE)
There, you can upload a map for your block to review and vote on
https://land.pennsicwar.org/pmap.php
For MAP SHARE (Non PMAP), it’s mostly so that you can have a way to share the map with your neighbors and vote, but you can also ask land staff to review /check your map for potential acceptance issues
For PMAP, once all groups have voted to accept, the PMAP coordinator will review the map for issues and send either approval or rejection with reasons for the rejection and a request to resubmit a corrected map
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
Please use the official PDF from the land website for this year for your block
Clearly mark each group’s FULL name
If the name of the group does not fit inside the group border, you can use a key such as
A) Clan Foo
B) House Bar of the Long Named Tribe
C) Barony of Baz
D) SINGLES CAMPING
Instead of A B C, you could use FOO, BAR, BAZ, SINGLES (shortname in block with key for long)
Or if you just have one or two groups that the name doesn’t fit, you can use a callout arrow, but we ask to keep this to a minimum – we want to minimize extra lines and marks.
We need the border lines between camps clearly drawn.
We need the lengths of those borders to the nearest foot.
The map needs to be clean, and high resolution (300 DPI if you plan to render the PDF and edit in a graphics program of some sort – that works out to 2550×3300).
Do not use color or shading.
DO NOT put land agent names or square footage on the maps. We are trying to reduce the clutter and the repetition of information – we have the agent names and the square footage in our database – adding it to maps just clutters things.
You can also reach out to the PMAP Coordinator to ask for a quick pre-review for potential issues – note you can do this even if you’re map share. Land staff can provide feedback.
Also, note that if we reject your map, we will provide reasons why it needs to be corrected and resubmitted. You can also request assistance. We have some “map coach” assistance available if you are struggling with either the technology of editing digital maps or if you’re having issues with measuring, etc…
We want as many groups as possible to be able to PMAP, and we want the MAP SHARE tool to be a useful resource to you.
If you have feedback about the process, feel free to email dmland@pennsicwar.org.
Yours in Service,
Lady Tananda
Deputy Mayor of Zoning and Planning (Land) – PW52
