HERALDS’ POINT
Located at the intersection of Low Road and the Great Eastern Highway, next to the Playground, near the Town Hall tent.
At Heralds’ Point, you can consult on names and armory for use in the SCA. Our Heralds can assist you with names, devices, badges, household names, just about any kind of book-heraldry. We will help research, check for conflicts, draw up the forms and armory, and ship it off to your kingdom submissions herald. You pay your normal kingdom submissions fee, plus a small amount for copying costs.
Note that you will need to come back to the Point to pick up and pay for your submission.
If you need help with a branch submission or something complicated, please come to the Point as early in the War as you can, and ask to make an appointment.
Hours: Heralds’ Point will be open for consultation from Wednesday, July 30—Wednesday August 6. Hours are 11 am to 5 pm on most days; and sign-in stops an hour before we close. Please stop by Heralds’ Point for the full schedule.
On the last Thursday we are open for pickups only, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
· VOLUNTEERS are always welcomed. We need Greeters, Warranted exchequers, Artists/colorers, and folks for general administrative duties, as well as consulting heralds.
· HERALDIC CLASSES are offered through Pennsic University.
Known World Heralds Meet & Greet, Sunday, Aug 3, 6:00pm – Join your fellow heralds for a gathering at Herald’s Point. There will be warm conversation and, of course, food! This gathering is open to all heralds of the Known World.
