Vehicles are only allowed on the battlefield with a battlefield driving pass issued by battlefield staff.
To request a pass, contact the Battlefield Coordinator:
battlefield@pennsicwar.org
What driving passes are for
Driving passes are typically used for short, necessary access such as:
- Pavilion/tent setup for kingdom, baronial, personal household, or other approved battlefield pavilions (For placement and setup coordination, please contact Battlefield Pavilions: bfpavilions@pennsicwar.org)
- Moving large amounts of gear for marshal staff and Marshals-in-Charge
- Other operational needs that require brief vehicle access to the field
How passes work
Passes are issued for limited time windows (typically short durations. often about one hour at a time) to keep traffic manageable. If you communicate your timing clearly, battlefield staff can usually accommodate necessary access within those windows.
Limitations
- We cannot issue all-day or standing passes.
- Driving passes should not be used to drop off people for large melees or similar mass movement onto the field.
Times when vehicles are not permitted
Vehicles will not be permitted on the battlefield any time it would be dangerous or would otherwise interfere with battlefield operations or the participant experience. This includes (but is not limited to) times such as:
- War Points
- Heroics
- Opening Ceremonies
- Other periods where vehicle traffic would create a safety risk or harsh the medieval mellow
