Located next to the Great Hall, entrance off St. Lawrence Way
Family Point provides activities and entertainment for those under 18 and their families. Families know their child best, and age groups are a suggestion except where noted for safety.
The Family Point Complex is open and staffed from 9 am to 5 pm each day, from Tuesday, 7/28 through Tuesday, 8/4, as well as on Thursday, 8/6. We are closed 8/5 to accommodate the Children’s Fete, Water Battle, and Midnight Madness. At night, Family Point is transformed into our Teen Lounge, open from 7 to 10 pm, Wednesday, 7/29, through Tuesday, 8/4.
The Family Point Lounge serves as our “info point”, as well as hosting playgroups and parent meet-ups. The Family Courtyard provides a safe space for younger children to play. 3-9 year olds and their adult/teen helper can enjoy scheduled crafts and activities in our Family Point Tent, while our YouthU tent has classes designed for ages 8-12 to enjoy.
For our older youths, the Teen Lounge is open for scheduled games, classes, and activities, as well as providing a hangout space for older kids. TeenU exists to allow those aged 13-17 to take classes designed for adults in a lower-intensity environment, as well as teen-specific classes.
Please check PennsicWar.org/THING or at Family Point for the most up-to-date schedule of activities, as we are continuing to add more activities.
VOLUNTEERING: We cannot provide activities and classes without your help! Volunteers are needed for teen evening supervision as well as teaching and assisting pre-prepared classes. We also need youth officers with SCA clearances to supervise in order to be open. Interested in volunteering to help? Stop by Family Point to learn more, and to see our signup sheet, or check the website to volunteer before war.
In accordance with SCA Policies, all Family Point activities are supervised by a background-checked youth officer. Families and youth are expected to follow all SCA and Pennsic supervision rules. SCA youth activities are not a babysitting service and Family Point staff cannot be used to fulfill the requirement for an accountable adult/teenager as defined in the Pennsic site rules.
