Martial Activities and Youth Rapier and Combat – AQI and Heat Index – Important information

As we get closer to War, Martial Activities would like to share a reminder about heat and air quality.

For heat-related field closures, Martial Activities will close the field when the heat index reaches 103°F. This call will be made by Marshal 1 and/or the Deputy Mayor for Martial Activities., using the OSHA-NIOSH Heat Safety Tool app as guidance.

Youth Rapier will also be monitoring air quality using EPA AirNow. If the Air Quality Index reaches orange, Youth Combat will issue a warning so parents and guardians can make informed decisions for their child’s health.

If the Air Quality Index reaches red, the Youth Rapier regular list will close until further notice.
